Dr. Karla Evans is a licensed clinical psychologist with many years of experience working in the mental health field. She graduated with honors with both her Bachelor’s degree in Counseling in 2004, and her Master degree in Counseling/Psychology in 2005 from Southwestern Assemblies of God University. In 2010, she received a Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University.
For the past seven years, she has worked as a clinical psychologist in various capacities, such as crisis management and long-term treatment of those suffering from severe mental illness. She has prior work experience in a psychiatric inpatient hospital and in private practice, where she provided psychological assessments, supervision, and therapy. In her former work with a non-profit organization, she provided resources, case management, counseling and safe placement for abused and neglected children. She has taught graduate courses at local universities and has presented on a wide range of clinical psychology topics and spiritual messages of hope, truth, empowerment, and love.
Dr. Evans currently serves as the training director for pre-doctoral psychology interns, dividing her time between clinical practice using evidence-based treatment, consultation, and supervision and didactic training. She is an invited speaker to many local groups and organizations to co-facilitate workshops and present compelling talks to varied audiences. Her experience combined with compassion is used as a catapult for change as she invests in healing the hurts of others from all walks of life. Her inspiring message connects people to their purpose and motivates them to make their goals and dreams a reality.
